Sherlock Hounds Photography was set-up in 2013 as a result of the increased photography work for the Facebook page for the training sessions at Lammermuir Gundogs. Whilst the majority of the photography is of dogs of all varieties, it is by no means restricted to this - as shoot days, weddings, parties, annual events and the Queen have all been photographed in recent years.
From 2017 onwards the aerial photography side of the business (trading as Scottish Holiday Houses) has taken off (excuse the pun) and I now pilot a number of small unmanned aircrafts (SUA’s). I generally use the larger Yuneec Typhoon H which is very stable in the air and is particularly good for 4K video work, though predominantly the aerial still images are done by the DJI Phantom 4 Pro + to 20MP resolution, with more panoramic and 360 degree shots now being requested. Like all responsible operators of a drone I have the CAA’s Permission for Commercial Operations (PfCO) and I am full insured.
Whilst I am based in the Scottish Borders near Lauder and do the bulk of the photography in the southern section of Scotland, I do travel the length and breadth of Scotland. Wherever you wish the photography/videography to take place, I am ready to capture that memorable shot for you.
